Summer!

Wow!  What a busy summer!  At the end of June my family came to visit during the low tide.  We spent a couple days at the beach, a day in Seattle, and then the rest of the time hanging out at our place.  My sister Tyann has been decorating cakes so I asked her if she would do a cake for Kayla since her birthday was coming up.  She did such a fantastic job, it was made with molding chocolate rather than fondant.  I thought it turned out absolutely adorable and it tasted amazing.  I didn't have an circular cake pans so we got the lovely square on a round cake plate.  Don't ya love it?  =]

It's so pretty!

I love the polka dots

Kayla thought it was yummy

During the 4th of July weekend we went camping at Ensign Ranch with some friends.  We really enjoyed our time and were glad that Kayla was able to have a little fun on her birthday which was on the 5th.  We went canoeing on the lake and then Justin and the kids had fun on the slip and slide.  Madi went down a couple times, Wesley went down a few more, and Kayla went down as many times as Justin would let her.  Happy birthday kiddo. =]

We rushed home on the 6th so we could celebrate Kayla's birthday with Grandpa Chambers and Uncle Kevin.  Kayla fell and hit the window sill and split open her nose.  The tape was to help keep it closed, Kayla was awesome at keeping it on.

We had donuts instead of cake

Two days later we packed up and headed to Idaho for the Earl family reunion.  We drove to Boise on Tuesday and stayed with Tyann and Aaron as they were not going to the reunion.  Madi and Wesley had their first sleep over with their cousins (Jenny and Travis' kids) and they had a blast.  We finished the trip the next day and had a great time with family.  There was a horseshoe competition and a fun hunting for money and candy game for the kids.  We left before the guns came out on Sunday but we heard it was pretty fun shooting guns.

On our way back we stopped in Twin Falls to see my old college roommate and best friend Janelle.  It was so good seeing her again, I don't get to see her as much as I would like so these visits are always special to me.

Somehow Kayla failed to be in these pictures =[

I love her!

We've had a fun summer so far with even more plans next month.  Can't wait!
